Congratulations to Tanner McLean for being selected as the new Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at Christoval ISD.
Tanner attended Angelo State University and the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He has spent the past four years at Comanche High School where he served as Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and Head Boys Track. His coaching stops include Breckenridge ISD, Burnet ISD, and Lampasas ISD. Each stop providing him with valuable experience in developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
Tanner is eager for his family to become part of the community. His wife Kerri will also be joining the Christoval High School teaching staff. Tanner and Kerri have three children Kimber (15), Tripp (5) and Titus (1).
"My vision for the athletic program is to instill a culture of discipline, toughness, respect, and drive. All while shaping young men and women into well-rounded individuals who make their school and community proud. CHS tennis had a successful tournament this past week at Sweetwater with some big wins over 3A and 4A competition. Our Varsity team finished the tournament with 16 Wins and 6 Losses. The team is playing good and we're excited how they're going to do in State Team Tennis March 7-8 in Abilene.

Congratulations to Elena Valdez who won the consolation draw in girls singles at Sweetwater's JV tennis tournament. All of the athletes played tough matches and stepped up their game to a new level. Excited for the Varsity tournament tomorrow!
Some of our National Honor Society members volunteered at the American Heart Association Go Red event yesterday evening. The volunteer coordinator spoke highly of our students, "I absolutely could not have done it without them. They were the driving force last night. The most sweetest, respectful, and beyond helpful group. Their parents and sponsors should be proud." We have amazing students at CHS!
Many of the Juniors attended Destination ASU today.
